The Weeping Book is a strange and deeply personal record, assembled from handwritten pages, photographs, documents, and objects whose significance is not immediately clear.

At first, you may simply be reading. Before long, you’ll find yourself looking more closely. Certain details repeat. Things begin to connect. Questions emerge where there were none before.

And somewhere within it all is a story that has been waiting to be uncovered.

The Weeping Book is an immersive horror experience intended for older teens and adults.

Unlike a traditional escape-room game, the experience places considerable emphasis on exploration and narrative. You’ll need to read closely, examine physical evidence, notice unusual details and determine which seemingly insignificant fragments might mean considerably more than they first appear.

It can be investigated alone or shared with a small group of suitably curious, and preferably sceptical, companions.

Recommended age: 14+

At the heart of the experience is The Weeping Book itself: an extensively handwritten journal filled with the thoughts, drawings, discoveries and increasingly troubling experiences of its young author.

Alongside it you’ll uncover a collection of tactile evidence and artifacts connected to his story, including photographs, correspondence, archival material and a mysterious amulet whose purpose may become clearer as your investigation progresses.

The narrative is not simply something to read. Details hidden throughout the book and its accompanying materials form a trail of puzzles and discoveries that allow you to dig deeper into what happened—and uncover the truth concealed beneath the story.

Originally released as one of The Mysterious Package Company’s earliest experiences, The Weeping Book has returned in a newly revisited edition, expanding upon the original mystery with new puzzles and discoveries while preserving the strange, intimate horror at its heart.

The Weeping Book is designed to be explored rather than rushed. Much of the experience lies in reading the journal, examining its contents and allowing the story to reveal itself before turning your attention to the mysteries hidden within. Allow approximately 2-4 hours to uncover the complete story, either in a single suitably unsettling evening or across several sittings.
