Many years ago, a series of traumatic incidents, strung together with the thread of their victims’ screams, imparted a character upon a house. One could argue this particular building is the spitting image of what comes to mind when the term “haunted house” is uttered: a Victorian-era homestead, tall and stately and regal looking. The type of house that chills you just to look at; the type of house that has a personality and, by extension, a personal agenda.

There are secrets hiding in the filigree walls of Hampstead Heath. Do you dare walk its halls to seek them out?

Synopsis

In 1873, renowned architect Henry Griggs set out to build what was to become his pièce de résistance: a home for him and his family. It was a happy time for the Griggs, a time of hopeful excitement, and a dream-come-true for Henry. However, soon after construction started, tragedy befell the family, and the dream turned into a nightmare.

Since then, the house had multiple owners, all of whom experienced otherworldly terrors, and met suspicious ends. You must sort through the archives of Hampstead Heath and find what lies at the heart of this haunting mystery.

Whether you live squarely in the Midwest or in the darkest corner of the Bermuda Triangle, Filigree in Shadow will transport you to this forlorn location through photographs, clippings, memos and more, culminating in a frightening artifact that bears a heavy burden.

Audience

Filigree in Shadow is a horror story about a haunted house. It is not suitable for young audiences or those with a sensitive constitution. Your recipient will enjoy this if they are fans of ghost stories and Victorian horror.

    Excellent story

I will say I didn’t enjoy this as much as “The King in Yellow,” but my wife and I like solving puzzles. This one has some elements that invited deciphering, but it wasn’t really necessary to complete the story. We did enjoy the story, and the materials were of the highest quality. We will definitely purchase another experience, and would recommend this one to anyone who likes an engrossing scary story.
