  • This Experience features a small number of puzzles peppered within a strong narrative

A crate, once buried deep beneath the soil, is discovered on your doorstep. The truth of a ghastly crime is hidden within its contents and a subtle, yet strangely indecipherable scent, seeps through the cracks. In spite of yourself, you pick it up and bring it inside.

And so, you begin to unravel the story and bear the burden of young Jacob’s confession. Feeling alone against the world with nothing but a journal as his closest confidante, a teenage boy struggles through very tough times.

Now within your hands, begins the revelation of a dark, comedic and utterly bizarre horror. Page after page divulges an ever-troubling descent.

There are codes to break and secrets darker than you could ever fathom, but be warned: uncoiling the mystery of Jacob’s buried puppet is highly dangerous. If you attempt it be careful; you just may find yourself in stitches.

    Synopsis

This is the story of a young man’s confession, written on the pages of his detention-centre notebook. It tells of a boy moving to a new town after the loss of his mother. The bullies pick on him, his father grows distant, and — if that wasn’t bad enough — he starts seeing ghosts emerging from his bedroom walls. That’s when he finds a hidden puppet, and puts it on his hand…

Mr. Bellylaugh, it seems, is able to keep the ghosts, the bullies, and the loneliness at bay. But is the puppet really Jacob’s ally, or is there more to him than meets the eye? The answer might be found among the pages of his journal, in his free-hand sketches, through library database searches, or somewhere far more devious.

    Audience

The main themes of this experience are isolation, dark humour, bullying, haunting, murder and demonic possession. Your recipient will enjoy it if they are fans of horror, comedy, puppets, the occult, or just strange stories set in small-town America.

The Buried Puppet is unsettling and therefore not suitable for young audiences. It has has been officially classified 13+ by a third party rating expert.

One of the best experiences so far...

I recently purchased The Buried Bundle. This was my first original experience from MPC that didn’t have to deal with the Cthulhu or Carcosa Mythos so I was excited to see how it would turn out. I started with the Buried Puppet. As of this writing, I’ve yet to do The Weeping Book, mainly because I’m scared nothing can top the experience with The Buried Puppet. As for the puppet: I never knew just how thin the line between “creepy” and “cute” actually was until I met Mr. Bellylaugh! The design is absolutely perfect; anyone who sees it knows there’s just something “off” about it and that is quite a remarkable thing to pull off aesthetically. The box wasn’t open for 5 minutes and I had the puppet on my hand and was reading the journal that came with it and I didn’t put it down until it was done. Of course, this is the MPC so there’s much more than what is on face value when it comes to what you get. I refuse to spoil anything but I will say this: The Buried Puppet has one of the most rewarding and genuinely bone chilling pay-offs I’ve ever experienced. My jaw was almost on the floor it was like a stab to the gut...and I wouldn’t have been a bit surprised to turn to the puppet just to see him holding the knife. As one of the least expensive experiences they offer; you should get The Buried Puppet! Get it.

      Absolutely wonderful!

I bought this for my almost 10 y/o. He was so confused and desperate to figure out. We finished it together in one day...he wouldn't put the journal down until he had read the entire thing! It ended when he said hang on, grabbed his phone, and googled Mr. Bellylaugh! Lol I had no idea he would do that! He was absolutely delighted and impressed that I managed to trick him so well. It is beautifully done, everything so authentic and well made! We absolutely love it!

      Unsettling! I Loved it!

Even creepier than The Weeping Book. Actually unsettled me enough to cause some loss of sleep. I could not stop thinking about it. And, yes, I keep the puppet hidden away. No need to look at it all the time! Lol.

2 hours of fun for teenagers and dad

This was a great activity for my quarantined kids. It was our first time doing one of these, so we were a little confused as to how to approach it - but part of the fun was figuring it out and relying on our individual strengths. My only quibble was the end - it wasn't clear that it was "the end" - but we've ordered another Box to see how it goes. Great product, VERY high quality!

      Awesome

This was a gift for my daughter and she loves it. Although walking around with that puppet is a little creepy but it is a horror story so good job there couldn’t be happier with what we received
