We know they existed, at least once upon a time: serpentine creatures that flew on leathered wings and breathed fire into the night. Young hunters would venture into the wilderness in search of dragons to slay, for glory or protection or profit. And over time, the dragons' numbers waned. Like the woolly mammoth before them, their status as prize prey led to over-hunting, and their population dwindled.
Former dragon-hunters became dragon-preservers. They began to research their former prey, and named their field "cryptozoology." They became the dragons' fierce protectors, and collected specimens that the dragons shed naturally.
But it was too late, of course. Dragons' lives were long, and their offspring few. Their population never recovered.
Cryptozoology might have never made it to our time were it not for the efforts of the Global Cryptozoological Society. They secured all known field literature and artifacts before they could be lost to time or ignorance. As associates of the GCS, we have a vested interest in furthering the future of cryptozoology. Therefore, with permission from all concerned parties, we are offering humanely sourced trophies from the vaults of the organization.
It is our hope that by propagating this research, we may bring more contributors to the study of creatures long dismissed as the stuff of legend. And who knows: perhaps, one day, we will figure out a way to bring them back...

My daughter is really into dragons and I gave this to her for Christmas. She loved it and immediately opened the crate and poured through its contents. Incredibly well done and definitely worth the price.
Following an excellent experience with the Lost Treasure of John Augur, I went ahead and ordered the Vulcan Dragon for my husband for his birthday. He says:
The dragon fang artifact was awesome. The artifact itself is really well made, with great heft and a nice display stand to show it off, but the overall packaging and presentation is what really made it stand out--from the crate you have to pry open to the wax cloth wrapping the fang, and all the assorted documents, scroll, and newspaper clippings that collectively tell the story of how this fang came to be in my possession.
Truly a wonderful gift for any fan of dragons, or "artifact" displays in general. (I now have mine on display next to a replica of the Holy Grail and other Indiana-Jones-esque baubles.)
