Cold War Secrets
This is another revamp of an older MPC experience called Risen. I ended up purchasing this one when I heard they added a puzzling component to the game and I did enjoy it quite a bit!
You are chosen as the keeper of a great secret that you must uncover in these two mailings. Most of the experience comes from mailing 1 with the big reveal being mailing 2 with an uncooperative metal box. There are two puzzles and the second one was a little tricky if you aren't paying careful attention.
The narrative was well done and I enjoyed reading through the letters and decoding the messages. I even found pleasure googling some of the things mentioned - I also did from Russian translating just for kicks! Much of MPC experiences are getting your money's worth by how much you invest in the experience and while this experience is shorter than the bigger one's, I had fun unpacking this with a friend. I recommend for anyone who enjoys shorter bursts of puzzling, 20th century aged components, and the Cold War.
