The Lost Treasure of John Augur

They say there is no honour among thieves, and in many cases that is true. In the early 18th century, the most disreputable dregs ever to sail the high seas carry out an impressive heist together. There was much debate about the success of their scheme, and the treasure that they set out to plunder has been lost to time and tall tales.

Now, years later, clues have emerged that hint to the location of the lost cache of riches. All you have to do is piece them together…

Synopsis

Two women, and three men: five maps for five pirates, from Europe, Africa, and Asia. They left one of their own marooned on an island. When he was taken away in chains and charged with piracy, the secret of his treasure was lost, seemingly for all time.

But John Augur’s story did not end there, and one clever treasure-hunter knows it.

Prepare for an adventure on the high seas set in both the 18th century and in the modern day, as Kelsey Franklin retraces the legendary pirate’s steps. Will she find treasure to plunder, or face a watery doom? The tale is revealed through documents, diary entries and maps, and concludes with an artifact that embodies the exploits and excitement of the golden age of piracy.

Audience

The Lost Treasure of John Augur is ideal for a family to experience together, however it is too demanding for young readers to explore on their own. Your recipient will enjoy this if they are fans of pirates, treasure-hunting, or adventure.

    My Sailor's Heart Loved It!!

I grew up on the ocean front and have been sailing and diving since childhood so like all things to do with the briny depths, I was thrilled for the entirety of this experience. The deliveries were timed just right to keep me eager for the next step but with plenty of time to dig deep into the history of Cpt. Auger and the details of each shipment. Like all MPC experiences (this was my fifth) the puzzles are challenging but not at all in a frustrating way, and the quality of the material/artifacts/documents is always superb. If you like history, particularly Buccaneer history and want to get lost in it for a while then I highly recommend this experience!

    Mysterious is the right word

This is such a fun adventure and everyone contributed something. We all had a delightful adventure. So rewarding when you figure it out. The best part is that you can work together, but fighting is just not something that happens. Worth every penny, there is so much detail in the artifacts and letters, etc. I wish this was my job!

    Amazing Experience with TLTOJA

I bought the Lost Treasure of John Augur for my brother’s family and it was a HUGE hit! Though I bought it with his (3) kids in mind, he and his wife had just as much fun and excitement with the experience.

It was the perfect experience and the kids had the perfect reaction. The kids’ ages are 13, 10, & 7. When the first package arrived everyone was so excited and confused (in a good way)! My 10 year old niece invited her friend over that very night and they both stayed up late reading through contents of the box. When the next packages arrived, they were all met with considerable joy and excitement.

It does need to be said that it would have been too difficult for the 7 or 10 year old to do by themselves, but with the 13 year old and the parents helping it was a blast for the entire family. The 7 year old was definitely still able to understand and partake in all the fun and excitement, she just would not have been able to connect all the dots without the team effort. But the family coming together was part of the fun!

    Absolutely Recommend!

High Seas in front of you!

I received this package as a surprise gift from my family and loved it! This is my third game from MPC and the largest by far.

As a Pirate myself, discovering the adventures of fellow buccaneers fills me salty heart with mirth!

I enjoyed fleshing out the story and losing myself in it with the first two shipments. The last shipment was a great ending to the mystery and ties everything together nicely. The documents and artifacts are top quality as always.
