They say there is no honour among thieves, and in many cases that is true. In the early 18th century, the most disreputable dregs ever to sail the high seas carry out an impressive heist together. There was much debate about the success of their scheme, and the treasure that they set out to plunder has been lost to time and tall tales.

Now, years later, clues have emerged that hint to the location of the lost cache of riches. All you have to do is piece them together…

Synopsis

Two women, and three men: five maps for five pirates, from Europe, Africa, and Asia. They left one of their own marooned on an island. When he was taken away in chains and charged with piracy, the secret of his treasure was lost, seemingly for all time.

But John Augur’s story did not end there, and one clever treasure-hunter knows it.

Prepare for an adventure on the high seas set in both the 18th century and in the modern day, as Kelsey Franklin retraces the legendary pirate’s steps. Will she find treasure to plunder, or face a watery doom? The tale is revealed through documents, diary entries and maps, and concludes with an artifact that embodies the exploits and excitement of the golden age of piracy.

Audience

The Lost Treasure of John Augur is ideal for a family to experience together, however it is too demanding for young readers to explore on their own. Your recipient will enjoy this if they are fans of pirates, treasure-hunting, or adventure.

    A wonderful journey

I think, in the end, we didnt actually figure it out but feel like we were close. A great journey with wonderful trinkets and a beautiful artifact to display afterwords. My first and best experience with mpc.

What to give someone that has everything

This was so much fun. I purchased for my brother’s 50th birthday and it kept him on his toes for well over a month. The “artifacts” are high quality and the mystery was fun to watch him try to solve.

Definitely a great gift for someone that has everything, the hard part is not spilling the beans!!!

    John Augur Adventure

The lost treasure of John Augur is an interesting mystery including well crafted artifacts and an exciting adventure story to follow through four mailings. My fiance and I enjoyed anticipating the delivery of each package and working through the clues together.

    No Gangplank Required

This was a Christmas gift from my son and included everything I love: romance, pirates, the ocean, and a bit of mystery. The “artifacts” lent SO much to the story and part of the mystery was when the next box would arrive. My only - tiny- criticism is that in “email” that included in one of the packets, the sender’s name was my son’s, thus spoiling the surprise at the reveal - but I didn’t let on.

    It was a good gift

The people I purchased it for were happy with the gift. I just feel the mailings could have been space a little further apart.

The one I received lasted longer. Making it more intriguing.
