The Disappearance of Cadet Turner Product Photo

The late 80’s, a foster home in Oregon — Two ten-year-olds met and bonded over their shared love of a comic series called Super Star Cadets. The series followed an intergalactic adventuring duo who explore the universe in search of legendary artifacts.

Inspired by the heroes in the comics, Pat and Gretta’s playtime emulated the stories in the comics. They explored places outside the safety of their home, collected strange samples, and kept an audio log of their missions.

On a warm day in September 1987, their adventure took them into the woods, but only one of them came back.

Now, three decades after his strange and sudden disappearance, Gretta is still searching for Pat. She needs your help to find Cadet Turner.

Synopsis

Pat Turner and Gretta Brown are two ten-year-olds who met in a foster home and bonded over their shared love of a comic series called Super Star Cadets. Their playtime revolved around emulating the adventures of their heroes. In September 1987, while on one such adventure, Pat and Gretta found a strange artifact and Pat was never seen again.

You (the recipient) were also a fan of the comics and contributed to their recent crowdfunding campaign to turn them into a cartoon. The campaign was a success and you receive a thank-you letter in the mail from the creators, prompting you to visit the new website.

While you’re browsing the site, you receive a message from Gretta. She tells you that she knows where Pat is and she needs your help to save him.

She sends you everything she’s managed to work out, and all the items that are relevant to Pat’s disappearance. Now, it’s up to you to piece the contents together, find Pat, and bring him back home.

This is the first Experience in our catalogue that has a companion app for your phone. It offers an exciting new way to interact with the tangible contents and enables us to present new puzzle mechanics.

The Disappearance of Cadet Turner is our most family-friendly Experience. It is suitable for anyone over 8 years old, however young readers will require the assistance of an adult. Your recipient will enjoy it if they are fans of science fiction, comic books, adventure, and 80’s nostalgia.

Got this for our 8 year old. Did not disappoint.

We didn't tell our kid anything about this. He was mystified that someone sent him a package, and that he had to solve a mystery. It was amazing to experience with him.

So much fun!

I didn't realize how involved we would get with this. I approached it as an alternative to escape rooms in these isolated times. The use of different technologies to immerse us in the story was great! I'll be doing this again and again for sure!
