Filigree in Shadow
Built well over a century ago, a quintessential Victorian home would become the chosen abode of many a family. Over the span of several decades the various homeowners would initially experience the jubilation of owning such a tall, stately and regal home. But you never really know what life has in store for you when you take up residence in a house that has its own agenda. Some homes are intent on expelling their human occupants, one way or another...
There are terrifying secrets hiding in the filigree walls of Hampstead Heath. They can sneak up behind your back and engulf you should you dare walk its halls. Be careful: nothing haunts us more than eerie shadows lurking between the walls. Enter at your own risk.
Synopsis
In 1873, renowned architect Henry Griggs set out to build what would eventually become his masterpiece; a palatial home for him and his family. This was a happy time for the Griggs family, a time of hopeful anticipation and most of all a dream come true for Henry. But, shortly after construction began on the home, tragedy befell the family and what began as a dream turned into a nightmare.
From that time forward the house had many owners, all of whom were exposed to otherworldly terrors and all of whom met their fateful end. Now you must sort through the archives of Hamstead Heath and find what is at the core of this haunting mystery.
Wherever you live, whatever corner of the earth you inhabit, Filigree in Shadow will transport you to this forlorn location through photographs, clippings, memos and more. This tale will culminate with an artifact so frightening and a burden so heavy, there will be nowhere to hide.

This isn’t the hardest box so is good for first-timers and families who don’t mind a bit of spookiness in their lives. The production value is, as always with MPC, stellar. I’m more than happy to spend my hard-earned money on quality like this.
As a person whose actual job involves reading and researching legal and court documents back to the 1800s, I've seen my fair share of old papers and documents. While there were a couple of tiny things that didn't quite ring true (words that wouldn't have been used, or used in a particular way, during the purported era of the documents), nevertheless the look and feel of the pieces was astoundingly genuine. And the last piece! I literally gasped out loud when I pulled it out of the crate.
I can't wait to display these treasures on a shelf (I'm in the midst of moving, so everything is staying boxed up for now) and look forward to having the time to sit down and figure out the coded messages.
Really fun and immersive experience! The documents and artifacts are really well made.
Filigree in Shadow is a great experience. It's beautifully constructed, the story is absorbing, and I did not see the ending coming. Each piece that builds the story looks and feels like authentic documents and items from their time period, and the final artifacts are beautifully made and make great display pieces and conversation starters in my home. The story even gives me something to look forward to, as I have not yet translated all the coded messages scattered throughout. So much enjoyment, entirely worth what I paid!
