“You want to learn magick. I want to teach you magick.”

We are tremulous with excitement and jubilation to bring you our collaboration with The McElroy Family — oldest brother Justin, middlest brother Travis, and sweet baby brother Griffin, alongside their father and radio legend, Clint — creators and performers of The Adventure Zone podcast.

Enrol in Taako’s Correspondence School today to start mastering the magical arts (and helping Taako on his misadventure).

Synopsis

The Adventure Zone is a bi-weekly comedy and adventure podcast based loosely on the popular Dungeons & Dragons game series, along with other role-playing games.

The tale will be told through several documents and activities sent to you by post, in addition to an interactive component will allow you to submit your work directly to Taako through a digital Stone of Far Speech. The second correspondence expands the story further and concludes with a unique reward that you can display in your home for all your hard work, making friends jealous and enemies envious.

But your journey will not end there. For beneath the surface of your magical education, Taako will draw from his roots and also give you… an edible education. With the Sizzling Chef Bundle, you will receive an official Chef's hat, certificate, and other items of cookery and cuisine. The Sizzling Chef Bundle will arrive with the second correspondence.

Audience

Taako’s Correspondence School is a comedic puzzle adventure that is suitable for audiences over 13 years old (some of the puzzles may be too challenging for young readers). Guardians beware: Taako has a foul mouth. Your recipient will enjoy this Experience if they like the Adventure Zone, magic, solving puzzles, and Harry Potter.

Great puzzles, but not for a group

I ordered this as a something for our family to do over the holidays. At the start of the Pandemic, we ordered Lights, Camera, Murder and LOVED IT! This one is much, much different. The puzzles are fantastic and very challenging, and kids can do it with help. We definitely needed to use some of the clues. However, this is not a "Gather the whole family around the table" type of challenge like the previous one we did. Maybe 2 people can work on it at once for most of the puzzles. At one point, we photo-copied one of the puzzles 5 times so we could all try to work at once. If you are just a couple, or even by yourself, and love brain games, you will love this. However, if you want an experience the whole family can enjoy together, I recommend something in the Murder Mystery series. Also...quite expensive. I wish there was an option to get just the puzzles without all the extra stuff that you dont need. They are fun, but not necessary.

    Great puzzles and presentation

These puzzles were difficult enough that we had to look up the hints, which was great. Really challenging, well put-together, really well packaged and presented!

    Worth every penny!

My family and I had SO much fun with this! The puzzles were challenging enough to keep everyone interested but simple enough in design that the kids were able to contribute as much as the adults. We were new to the Taako-verse but are definitely huge fans now!

The perfect marriage of the McElroy's humor and MPC's machinations.

This was a gift for my Adventure Zone loving wife. A wife that gets easily frustrated with puzzles. And let me tell you, some of these puzzles can take a long minute to wrap your head around.

    She loved it.

Between the intricate setups with each part of the puzzle and the brand humor as only the Adventure Zone can perform, it was delightful to take part in a slice of adventure, and the prizes in the second package delighted with both it's baking use and baked in humor. This may be a package that already had it's audience picked from the start, but it's honestly a fine point of entry for both MPC and the Adventure Zone.

    A Challenging Great Time

TAZ: Balance fans will geek out about this adventure for months afterwards. My compatriots (all adults, all librarians) and I got together and thought we could knock out the first box in an evening, but it took us several sessions to get through it. The interactivity with the app was fun, and having more time with the boys was great. I wear my pin proudly, and highly recommend this experience.
